Sales & Marketing Research
My target audience for this BLOG includes producers of premium, super-premium, and luxury products. It is my goal to provide insights and implications from a curated subset of state-of-the-art academic research in the fields of sales & marketing. Effectively connecting-the-dots from sophisticated academic-speak to the everyday world of business.
The best papers carefully, precisely, and thoughtfully use the best insights and resources from multiple sources to develop scientific arguments. This scientific process entails asking the right questions, learning efficient information acquisition procedures, judging and appraising the quality of the evidence, synthesizing a source's findings and insights, and incorporating the evidence into a compelling argument for science or decision-making. As part of my marketing research, I have to read and summarize numerous academic journal articles as part of this evidence-based approach to research. Why not share my analysis and bridge the divide between the academe and practice?
In my 20+ year career, I have held numerous roles in food and beverage (Nestle Purina) and software companies, Oracle and Infor. My experience spans from process manufacturing, software development, business consulting, project management, sales, sales training, business development, marketing, and management. Additionally, I had an opportunity to serve in two branches of the US military: US Air Force (enlisted) and the US Navy Reserve (officer).
My qualitative and quantitative research interests include strategy, marketing, consumer behavior, and luxury goods. I hold a doctorate in business administration from the University of Florida with a specialty in marketing. Additionally, I have three master's degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology; MBA, electrical & computer engineering, and physics. Yes, I am an education junkie.
